science & history: they're Biblical after all

psycho314t: lately all ive read is wyattnewsletters.com
iwillgonow: What in them?
psycho314t: alllllllllllll kinds of topics. biblical and scientific proof for alot of things... dinosaurs, ice age, etc... its really interesting
iwillgonow: Tell me somthing interesting.
psycho314t: like... 20 or more different legends of all different cultures from around the world, that all tell about the flood, and tower of babel, and the confounding of languages and dispersing of peoples...
iwillgonow: Yeah, it's kinda prevelant, but that's just a COINCIDENCE, suuuuure.
psycho314t: oh, yeah, of course... the fact that its almost word for word biblical in nature means absolutely nothing....
iwillgonow: They just alter the story to include dogmas of their cultures or religions, like the Native American Indians made it a story of a gaint turtle that saved mankind, but the people staying on it's back. Great Mother Turtle or something.
psycho314t: "It is found in the histories of the Toltecs that this age and first world, as they call it, lasted 1716 years; that men were destroyed by tremendous rains and lightning from the sky, and even all the land without the exception of anything, and the highest mountains, were covered up and submerged in water "caxtolmolatli" (translated to read "fifteen cubits"); and here they added other fables of how men came to multiply from the few who escaped from this destruction in a "toptlipetlocali;" that this word nearly signifies a close chest; and how, after men had multiplied, they erected a very high "zacuali", which is to-day a tower of great height, in order to take refuge in it should the second world (age) be destroyed.
psycho314t: Presently their languages were confused, and, not being able to understand each other, they went to different parts of the earth....
The Toltecs, consisting of seven friends, with their wives, who understood the same language, came to the parts, having first passed great land and seas, having lived in caves, and having endured great hardships in order to reach this land;... they wandered 104 years through different parts of the world before they reached Hue Hue Tlapalan, which was in Ce Tecpatl, 520 years after the Flood."

iwillgonow: Very close, indeed.
psycho314t: it gives a very long & detailed account of the mechanics of the flood and the time after... http://www.wyattnewsletters.com/noahark/na45.htm
psycho314t: starting in the middle of that pg
psycho314t: One effect of this upheaval was that the entire equilibrium of the earth was disturbed. The delicate balance which kept the earth rotating on its axis was interrupted numerous times and the planet shifted its entire bulk, which further thrusted and tore the surface. Evidence that the earth shifted on its axis numerous times in a very short time period is proven by rocks such as magnetite. During their formation, these rocks developed lines within them which aligned with magnetic north. Magnetite specimens have been found which display as many as 10 or more different alignments, proving that during the time that the rock was cooling, the earth changed its magnetic poles at least 10 times.
iwillgonow: Wow.
iwillgonow: THat's some scientific proof that is good science.
iwillgonow: Cause science backs up it's Creator.
psycho314t: yup : ) all their proofs are pretty convincing
psycho314t: http://www.wyattnewsletters.com/babel/xbabel38.htm
psycho314t: more good scientific stuff about volcanoes and the ice age
psycho314t: We believe that enough glacial water was melted within the period of Peleg's life to raise sea-level enough to isolate the continents. The glaciers advanced and retreated, finally stabilizing when the glaciers had retreated to today's approximate extent. i think thats one of the most interesting things...
psycho314t: We believe the glaciers and ice-caps covering almost 1/3 of the earth were formed at the flood, just about 4,300 years ago. 339 years later, after 4 or 5 major world-wide glacial advances and retreats, enough glaciers were melted to raise the sea-level to the extent that North America and Australia were isolated as continents. The pathways which man and animal had walked across were now under water. The animals that had made their way to Australia were sealed off from the rest of the world and from them would arise species unique to the entire planet.
psycho314t: and the same w/ north & south america
iwillgonow: Wow.
psycho314t: err... before those 2 passages..: While the glaciers were in place, sea-level was much lower and much more of the earth was dry land.
psycho314t: When the waters of the melted glaciers raised the sea-level, these reefs which were once perhaps 100 feet deep were now 500, or 800 or even 1,000 feet deep. While today's scientists will readily concede that the melting of the glaciers raised the sea-level anywhere from 330 to 460 feet, the evidence of the coral indicates an even greater rise.
psycho314t: saying that coral reefs have to have an amount of sunlight to form that couldnt be found much deeper than 100 ft
iwillgonow: I'm losing the ability to think about any numbers, time for bed.
